Ponvarna, Coimbatore 641041, Tamil Nadu, is responsible for the personal details you share with us. We collect only what we need, never sell it, and you can ask us to see, correct or delete it at any time.
When you order on WhatsApp

We never ask for your UPI PIN, OTP, card number or any password. Our UPI details are shared only inside our own WhatsApp chat from +91 88255 06926.
Who else sees it: the courier or India Post that delivers your parcel (name, phone, address), WhatsApp (Meta), which carries our chats, Google (Google Workspace), which sends our order and delivery emails from orders@ponvarna.com if you give us an email, and our accountant (invoices only). Nobody else, unless the law requires it.
How long: order and payment records for 8 years, as tax law requires; chats, photos and videos for 1 year after your order is settled.
Your rights: you can ask to see, correct or delete your details, or name someone to act for you. Write to care@ponvarna.com, +91 88255 06926. We reply within 7 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Joining the Ponvarna list
What we collect: your email; the page language you used; which preview sarees you pressed Notify me on; which part of the site you signed up from; and the date and time you signed up. People who joined under our first notice also gave a mobile number, which we keep only for what they agreed to then.
Why: (1) if you sign up, to email you your welcome code straight away and then our letter: first news of our saree collection, care notes and offers; (2) if you press Notify me, to email you when that saree, or one very like it, arrives; (3) to give each member one ₹50 welcome: a Deepavali code for WhatsApp orders until 30 November 2026, or a welcome code when our online shop opens; (4) to keep a record of what you agreed to.
How you agree: pressing "Sign up" is your agreement to the welcome email and our letter, as the sign-up form says. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
WhatsApp: we only message you on WhatsApp if you message us first. Reply STOP any time.
Who sees it: only us. Your details are stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this site, and our emails are sent by Resend, under contract. We never sell or rent your details.
How long: while you stay on our list. If you leave, we stop at once and delete your details within 30 days, keeping only a scrambled "do not contact" entry so we never add you again by mistake. If you have not ordered from us for 12 months, we will ask once whether to keep writing, and stop if you do not reply.
Changing your mind: use "Unsubscribe" in any email, "Leave our list" on our privacy page, or write to care@ponvarna.com. Leaving is as easy as joining.

Recently viewed and Picked for you are worked out on your device from the pieces you open; nothing about them is sent to us. Clear them any time by clearing your browser data.
Our website
The site sets no cookies of its own and uses no advertising cookies.
Kept only in your browser: so the site opens the way you left it, it keeps your language, light or dark theme, your wishlist (the pieces you saved), recently viewed pieces (the last 30, for up to 180 days), and when you joined or closed our sign-up box. These stay on your device and are never sent to us. Clear them any time by clearing your browser data. A copy of our pages and photos is also kept on your device so the site works offline; it holds no personal details.
What leaves your device: what you type into our sign-up form, which comes to us. When a sign-up form appears, Cloudflare's bot check (Turnstile) loads from challenges.cloudflare.com in its own frame; it reads browser signals and may keep its own storage on Cloudflare's domain. Choosing Tamil loads the Tamil text and fonts from our own site; nothing personal is sent.
Cloudflare, which hosts the site, counts page views only and handles basic technical data, such as your browser type and approximate city, to keep the site secure.
Our shop is for adults; we do not knowingly collect details from anyone under 18.
